Britain Yearly Meeting and the ecumenical movement

Local implications

9.14

Britain Yearly Meeting's membership of CTBI does not commit local meetings or individual Friends to any particular course of action with regard to interchurch relationships. However, in 1989 Yearly Meeting asked monthly meetings and general meetings to review the involvement of meetings in local and regional ecumenical activities, encouraging greater participation where need be. The recognition by CTBI member churches of our yearly meeting's non-credal tradition which is implied by Clause 2b (see 9.09) may make it easier to formalise these local relationships.
