Resignation by the individual

Any Friend who has attained the age of sixteen may address a letter of resignation to the clerk of the area meeting. Area meetings should arrange for such letters to be referred to the local or area meeting overseers for advice. Normally a resignation should not be accepted until after a visit on behalf of the area meeting. On the acceptance of a resignation the area meeting clerk shall immediately inform the Friend concerned.
